pa OFFICERS

PRESIDENT

The President provides strategic planning and leadership across the entire association. This role includes liaising with school administration, overseeing all events and initiatives, managing the PA leadership team, delegating tasks, and representing the voice of the parent community.

TREASURER

The Treasurer manages the available PA funds and creates a working budget for the association. This role includes objectives such as utilizing financial resources, accountability and monitoring the association’s bottom line, files the taxes in the spring, and reimburses PA members for expenses.

SECRETARY 

This role includes regularly attending PA meetings to take minutes, record and allocate actions and tasks. The Secretary also manages the administrative needs of the organization and assists with drafting correspondence.  

PA BOARD

CLASS PARENT CHAIRPERSON

This role includes recruiting willing class parents and equipping them with the talking points and tools to share with their fellow classroom parents. The Class Parent Chairperson helps class parents connect with teachers and plan classroom events, and meet to discuss classroom specific issues or initiatives.  This committee can decide if they want to meet quarterly or monthly to plan and share. 

THE OWL SHOP CHAIRPERSON/COMMITTEE 

The owl shop Chairperson/Committee orders and designs all the spirit wear and swag for the school from designing to colors to collaborating with local artists to fulfilling Owl Shop orders and managing the web store. 

THE COMMUNICATIONS CHAIRPERSON/COMMITTEE

The Communications Chairperson/Committee crafts and distributes the posters for all regular PA events, keeps a visual record of all events, maintains the PA’s instagram account, the PA online calendar and all PA email communications.

THE COMMUNITY CHAIRPERSON/COMMITTEE

The Community Chairperson/Committee is committed to fostering the wellness of the WNS community through volunteer and community-building events spanning Health & Wellness, Greening & Zero Waste, Diversity Equity & Belonging and Literacy.

THE GALA CHAIRPERSON/COMMITTEE

The Annual Gala Chairperson/Committee raises the bulk of funds for PA scholarships and other PA initiatives by planning and executing the largest PA party of the school year, the Annual Gala and Raffle/Auction held in the Spring.
