The WNS PA is starting a new initiative in 2020 to support our teachers in each campus with opportunities to grow as a teacher in a way that benefits their colleagues, the school, our students, and community as a whole. Since the Preschool was founded 20 years ago, it has followed the Reggio Emilia philosophy of learning. In order to grow our connection to this philosophy, the Parent Association Board, with the support of Met Schools, has voted to send two of our amazing Preschool teachers to Reggio Emilia, Italy for an in-depth study, at the birthplace of the teaching method that guides our school in the preschool and lower grades.

Two teachers have been selected by the Administration and will attend the in-depth study group “The role of the teacher, the pedagogista and the atelierista” from March 28th to April 4th.

In the spirit of the trip, and to raise the $4000 needed, the PA is raffling off a basket of specialty Italian goods. The basket includes: a selection of 6 Italian wines and liquors (some not yet available in the United States); a pasta or pizza making class at Brooklyn Kitchen; a signed copy of Missy Robbins’ cookbook; a $100 gift card to Eataly; and other gourmet Italian goods from Monger’s Pallette. (Valued at approx. $500)

There are 100 raffle tickets available, priced at $40 each.
